Distributions of
seamounts, oceanic plateaus and
guyots on the Pacific Plate.
These volcanic edifices
might reach to the Pacific rim in the future.
Present seafloor, below the deep deep ocean, of the western Pacific
records much informations of volcanic activities & tectonic events
after Early Cretaceous. So my research target is the origin of basalts
from the seamounts on the
Pacific plate using:
1) Petrology
2) Geochemistry
3) Radiometric age by the Ar-Ar & U,Th-Pb
dating
4) Mode of occurrence
5) Bathymetry & Geology
6) Kinematics and behavior of the Pacific
plate
