<題名> The Space Telescope Revolution of Stars and Exoplanets

タイトル:The Space Telescope Revolution of Stars and Exoplanets

要旨: The study of exoplanets - planets outside our solar system - is one of the fastest growing fields in astronomy today. In this lecture I will review some of the fundamental concepts and strategies for searching and characterizing exoplanets using space-based telescopes, with a particular focus on the transit method employed by NASA Missions such as Kepler, K2 and TESS. I will also discuss the importance of characterizing exoplanet host stars, which plays a critical role since the vast majority of exoplanets have been detected indirectly, and describe the latest results on exoplanet demographics by combining data to characterize stars and their planets from Kepler, K2, TESS and Gaia. Finally, I will provide an outlook on the strong synergies between stellar astrophysics, exoplanet science, and galactic astronomy for the study of stars and exoplanets over the coming decades.
